Buddy Reading Sessions
In a book club, buddy reading serves as a dynamic and interactive approach to exploring literature. Members read and discuss sections of the book together, buddy reading enhances comprehension and fosters a deeper appreciation of the text. This collaborative method not only improves reading fluency and critical thinking but also builds social connections within the club. Participants engage in meaningful discussions, share diverse perspectives, and support each other's learning journeys. The shared responsibility and interactive nature of buddy reading increase motivation and ensure that everyone stays engaged and accountable, making the book club experience more enriching and enjoyable for all members.
GUIDELINES
1. Participants should agree on the start date and refrain from starting ahead before it is mutually decided upon.
2. At least two (2) participants must be present to initiate the buddy read.
3. Participants are given one (1) month to finish the book.
4. As it is called "buddy reading", participants are expected to share their thoughts in the designated group chats to be considered a participant of the buddy read.
5. Finishers within the designated time frame will receive 2 badge points.
6. Participants are expected to submit their photos for documentation. Kindly submit them on time or before the admin makes the final call.
Book-Of-The-Month
The "Book of the Month" selection is a featured book chosen for all members to read and discuss during a specified period, specifically a month. This selection is often made through a voting process coming from nominations from members, or admins’ choice, aiming to cater to diverse interests and introduce members to new genres, authors, and themes. The chosen book becomes the focal point of the club's activities, driving discussions, analyses, and various related events. This structured approach ensures that all members are on the same page, literally and figuratively, fostering a sense of unity and collective exploration of literature.
GUIDELINES
Each book chick can nominate one (1) book following these criteria:
1. adherence to the theme
2. should not be greater than 400 pages
3. must have a Goodreads rating of 𝟯.𝟳𝟱 and up
4. a standalone or the 1st book in a series
The criteria may change from time to time depending on the chosen theme for the month
Nomination runs for 2 days and will be followed by the voting period which will also run for 2 days.
Announcement of next month’s BOTM will be done during the BOTM discussion for the current month.
Badge Rewards
BCPH Badge Rewards System incentivizes active participation by allowing members to earn points for joining club activities such as attending buddy reads, BOTM discussions, reading challenges, and more. This points-based approach not only encourages consistent engagement but also adds an element of fun and friendly competition. At the end of the year, the member with the highest points total is honored as the top achiever and receives a special reward, such as a gift card, a coveted book, or exclusive club merchandise. This system not only motivates members to stay involved and passionate about reading but also fosters a sense of accomplishment and recognition within the club community.
GUIDELINES
How to earn points?
10 points - upon submission of fully accomplished membership form. this will also be automatically given to current members on every start of a new year.
20 points - for BOTM finishers who attends the BOTM discussion.
10 points - for members of the month. qualified to participate are members who are part of our private FB group. top members are identified through engagement data from Facebook.
2 points - for every buddy reading session finish.
30 points - for annual reading challenges
More points may be earned from additional club activities
Reading Challenges
Book Chickas PH hosts engaging reading challenges designed to motivate and inspire readers to broaden their literary horizons. These challenges often include Annual reading challenges, and themed reading prompts. Participants share their progress and reviews on social media, fostering a supportive and interactive community. Through these reading challenges, Book Chickas PH not only promotes a love for reading but also encourages members to discover new perspectives and connect with fellow book enthusiasts.

What reading challenges can you participate in?
Earn points when you complete this challenges following:
30 points - to finishers who will stick to 100% of their entries
20 points - 76%-99% original entries
10 points - 75% below
